That voice can haunt us with “I am…” statements. It’s capable of creating self-doubt, fear and shame within us without ever providing any evidence.
How many people actually challenge it or simply shut it down?
Our ego records in our memory those things that we have experienced that could harm us. As we grow up, we unconsciously adopt and integrate this pattern of negative thoughts toward ourselves and others.
When we cannot identify and separate ourselves from this inner critic, we allow it to impact our behavior and thoughts and shape the direction of our lives.
It may sabotage our successes or our relationships, preventing us from living the lives we want to live and becoming the people we desire to be.
